LEAD/SENIOR PROCESS DESIGN ENGINEER - WATER/WASTEWATER - GALWAY

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is one of Ireland’s leading Water and Wastewater
Treatment Plants design & build Contractors.

This position requires an expert in the field of water treatment
and/or wastewater & industrial effluent treatment. 

The role is ideally suited to candidates with experience in the
development of process solutions in industrial and municipal settings,
and in accordance with specifications used in Ireland and United
Kingdom.

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, capable of
working on their own initiative with proven strong problem-solving
skills. 

The incumbent will be required to provide design leadership for their
field of expertise and this leadership will extend to mentorship of
junior design and project engineers. 

The Lead/Senior Process Design Engineer will integrate within our
multi-disciplinary design team and work along-side external
consultants to develop robust design solutions for numerous clients.

This role will play a major part in process selection, process design,
application engineering, proposal support and operational support. 

Development of the whole cycle of the treatment process from the
concept to the detailed design stage is essential, demonstrating a
strong commercial acumen and providing guidance on project and tender
CAPEX and OPEX cost models.

Supporting the Engineering Director and Design Manager to deliver
design works across Ireland and the UK for public and private sector
clients.

Perform preliminary and detailed design of water / wastewater
treatment plants based on data provided, achieving desired treatment
criteria.

Exploration of new process solutions. Develop relationships with
supply chain partners (Products/Services).

Actively mentoring, training and providing guidance to staff within
the engineering process and wider group project.

Application of appropriate software to provide advice, solutions and
successful outcomes to achieve contract objectives.

Developing and adopting standards in design to streamline engineering
tasks. Peer reviewing and approving of design work generated by the
process/ M&E design team. 

Assisting the commercial/estimating team members in developing CAPEX
and OPEX models.

Developing drawings of equipment and plant layouts as required
Developing PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Process &
instrumentation Drawings) 

Developing process mass balance, hydraulic, energy, mechanical
calculations as part of the detailed design.

Effective time management and execution of work within defined
timeline and budgetary constraints; 

Assisting with technical and commercial submissions for tenders
Occasional travel required to project sites will be required.

Undertaking the role of PSDP, ensuring Health & Safety, Ethical and
Quality requirements, both legislative and company specific, are fully
respected and taken account of.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor Degree in Chemical / Process / Environmental Engineering.

+ * years of experience in water / wastewater
process design.

Chartered status is an advantage.

Proven track record in delivering technical designs.

Ability to work on multiple assignments, mentoring and delegating
duties to personnel under your supervision.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and a knowledge 2D/3D CAD
software.

Strong Problem solving and trouble-shooting skills. Effective time
management and communication skills.

Excellent oral and written reporting skills.

Full Clean Irish or EU driving license.

No Sponsorship, must currently hold a valid Critical Skills Work
Permit, or have Stamp 4 visa.
